Aharbal Falls

The Aharbal falls, about 60 kms from Srinagar via Shopian, lie in the gorge cut into the Pir Panjal hills by the Veshav river.

The sheer cliff faces provide favoured nesting sites for Kestrels, Redstarts, Blue Whistling Thrushes and Forktails.

Bird Roll Call :
Common Stonechat, Grey Bushchat, European Goldfinch, Common Starling, Yellow-breasted Greenfinch, Rock Bunting, Great Tit,  Eurasian Collared Dove, Oriental Turtle Dove, Large-billed Crow, Black Kite, Common Myna, Himalayan Bulbul, House Sparrow, Rock Pigeon, Streaked Laughingthrush, some warblers and nesting Common Kestrels, Plumbeous and White-capped Water Redstarts, Brown Dippers, Blue Whistling Thrushes and Little Forktails.
