Royal Springs Golf Course

The Royal Springs Golf Course was carved out from the erstwhile Dr. Salim Ali City Forest on the foothills of the Zabarvan Hills overlooking the Dal Lake. While its creation may have been controversial there is no doubt that it is one of the most striking golf courses in the world. It is a 6445 m, par-72 course designed by Robert Trent Jones Jr. II and spans an expense of 300 acres. Apart from golfers, it is a perfect site for birders with its man-made lakes at the level of the Dal, marshland patches, bushy thickets, copses and rolling tree-lined fairways leading up to the coniferous forests of the Zabarvan range. An amazing variety of bird life can be observed in the course.
