Pahalgam (2,130 m) is Kashmir's premier summer destination and the take off point for the most popular trekking routes outside Nepal with some of the most scenic alpine views. The most important trek is the pilgrimage to the Amarnath cave on the August full moon [Amarnath Yatra].

The Lidder River has excellent trout fishing beats for brown trout. The fishing season stretches from April to September. Facilities are available for River-rafting on the amateur-level rapids of the Lidder. It is exhilarating and enormous fun. Pahalgam Club also has a golf course, which can be used by tourists.
