Manasbal Lake

[January 2006] Posted by Jehangir | Comments

The beautiful Manasbal Lake, about 42 kms from Srinagar, is reputed to be the largest haunt of aquatic birds in winter. It is the deepest lake of the Kashmir valley.

A stream that runs through a grove on the banks of the lake, between a hillside mosque and an ancient submerged temple, is the best location to observe birds.
